I have this theme in life that if I can learn from someone else’s mistakes, I will try to do so before I make the mistakes myself. I value efficiency and I value the trials and tribulations other’s go through as being learning experiences not only for them, but for me as well. That being said, I recently came up with five things that I wish I had known way before I embarked on the journey of starting my own business so maybe you can learn from my mistakes.
This isn’t your typical post about going through a process to realize that you will get no’s, that there will be times you will fail so you must not give up, etc…This is about my “why” and shall I dare say, regret for not having embarked on this journey sooner. Granted, I have followed God’s guidance entirely with starting this business, but a part of me longs for the time wasted living in fear of the risks. My hope is that these five ideas will help someone who is considering starting their own business to see the urgency and value in asking yourself one simple question: “Why Not?”
If only I had known…I would have taken all the risk so much sooner. Don’t wait, my friends, for the time of fulfilling your dreams is NOW! You are worth more than being tied down to someone else’s schedule and so is your family. You can’t gain anything great without taking some risk. I like to think the greater the risk, the greater the gain. Don’t let another day fly by with you not pursuing your passions and dreams! I will choose to live a life free of regret and I invite you to do the same…I ask you one question: Why not?
