“I just don’t know how to say what’s in my brain…”
Okay, let’s start there…
A friend of mine has recently started up her own business and is in need of a logo design, but one thing I have found is that it is much harder to formulate and set up than people think going into it. On the other hand, the logo is the face of a company and is essential in terms of brand communication so you want it to be perfect…yes, perfect.
My friend has brilliant ideas and an amazing business plan that I see succeeding and flourishing in no time. The issue is how to communicate the brand and what she has to offer. That being said, my friend has worked many hours researching and exploring to find the best way to express what her brain is telling her she wants for her logo and brand.
People outside of marketing, advertising, and design often struggle to communicate what they want for a logo, which is why I always encourage my clients and friends to contact a designer with a good reputation. There is one designer (shout out to HunneDesigns) that I use with all design work that I refer out to. The owner of the company has a beautiful way of pulling ideas out of peoples’ minds and putting into a visual format.
As I told my friend recently, rest easy…rest easy knowing that there is someone out there that is an expert at logos and design and can help to formulate your ideas and concepts into reality. There are some things worth the extra money when it comes to starting a business and the right logo is definitely one of those things.
According to the American Marketing Association, the term brand is defined as “a customer experience represented by a collection of images and ideas.” I’m not sure the importance of brand can be expressed more clearly than this definition itself. The customer’s experience is ultimately what matters in terms of growth and success of a company; therefore, it is imperative to have a clear and direct brand. The brand starts with the logo.
One of my favorite aspects of marketing is brand communication and working with clients to express their passions and their offerings to society through their businesses. Dorky, I know, but this is my passion. Years ago, I saw a logo that when looked at it from one angle, showed a different image than when looked at from another angle. I was mesmerized. This logo drew my interest not only in the specific company but also in the industry of marketing and advertising as a whole. Now, I work (or play) to help businesses start with an idea, create a brand, and show the world what they have to offer through marketing strategy.
There is power in what a logo has to offer a company and I love few things in my career more than sharing what makes a company and its offerings unique and valuable to society through images and structure. Fellow business owners, rest easy in knowing there are people out there that love marketing and love logos and are equipped to handle the chaos in your brain. (PS: If you need a logo, contact Sara at HunneDesigns, she’s great at taking your idea and making it effective art!)
